In its annual list of the fastest-growing companies in America, Inc. Magazine named 163 Colorado-based ventures to its Inc. 5000 list.
That number topped the 2020 version of the list, where Colorado’s total was 151 companies. The rankings are determined based on percentage of revenue growth from 2017 to 2020, with minimums of $100,000 in 2017 and $2 million in 2020.
The Denver area accounted for the majority of the Colorado companies appearing on the list with 112, while Boulder checked in with 24 and Colorado Springs with 12.
For the second consecutive year, the top ranked Colorado company on the list was insulated drinkware company BrüMate. After appearing at No. 14 on the 2020 list, BrüMate ranked No. 71 this year with 5,320% growth.
Founded in 2016 by Dylan Jacob, BrüMate has a growing line of insulated drinkware for adult beverages, including wine tumblers, wine canteens, can and bottle coolers, barware and coolers.
Colorado startups and technology companies also littered the list, with CyberGRX, Eon, Pax8, Ivy.ai, RxRevu and Quantum Metric landing in the top 1,000.
RxRevu, a startup that assists with prescribing decisions at over 500 health systems across the country, made its debut on the list this year, ranked at No. 384 and reporting 1,250% revenue growth from 2017 to 2020.
“The team at RxRevu is honored to be included on such a prestigious list among such phenomenal companies,” RxRevu CEO Kyle Kiser said in a statement. “Our growth can only be attributed to the hard work and dedication of our team and our partners, and our steadfast effort to do what’s right for patients across the country. We’re providing enormous value to the healthcare industry, and it is great to be recognized for our work.”
In total, the 163 Colorado companies that made the list accounted for 201% median growth and generated $6.9 billion in total revenue. There were also 80 repeat honorees among the Colorado companies.
